1/35 LRDG F30 Patrol truck Bonus edition

The Ford F30 was a modified version of the Canadian Military Pattern (CMP) 30 cwt 4x4 truck, which was chosen for its four-wheel drive capability and high ground clearance. The LRDG made several modifications to the F30, including cutting down the front cabs, strengthening the suspension, fitting sand tires, and adding un-ditching equipment. These modifications were essential for the vehicle's performance in the desert environment. Despite its reliability and effectiveness, the Ford F30 faced challenges such as high fuel consumption and susceptibility to desert sand, which led to its eventual replacement by the Chevrolet 1533x2 30 cwt Patrol Truck in 1942. The F30's legacy continues in the modeling community, where it is often used to represent the LRDG's vehicles.
