1/35 Scammell Pioneer R100 Artillery Tractor with 7,2 inch Howitzer

Despite the Scammell Pioneer R100 initial lack of all-wheel drive, the Pioneer's suspension, traction, and low-revving engine made it a reliable choice for towing heavy artillery pieces and transporting recovery equipment. The Pioneer R100 was particularly effective in towing medium and heavy artillery pieces, including the 6-inch gun, 8-inch howitzer, 155 mm Long Tom, and the 7.2-inch howitzer. The vehicle's design allowed for the accommodation of the gun's crew, tools, equipment, and ammunition, simplifying logistics and enhancing operational efficiency. The Pioneer was also used as a recovery vehicle, with the SV1S and SV1T models equipped with a 3-ton folding crane and lockers for recovery equipment and towing bars. The Pioneer's contribution to military logistics was significant, especially in the early stages of the war, when it was used to tow artillery pieces and transport recovery equipment.
